Peerless Firefox Standard (Peerless, Korea, 2008 first year issue)

The FIREFOX STANDARD is a 16 inch by 1 3/4 inch Semi Hollow Double cutaway archtop guitar with laminated flame maple top and laminated flame maple back and sides with Rosewood fingerboard, bridge base, stop tailpiece and faux-tort pickguard with a roller bridge and a 5 piece maple/mahogany neck and 2 routed in Filtertron style humbuckers and genuine Grover heads.  This is a first year Firefox model, after Peerless had first launched its take on guitars it was making for Epiphone and Gretsch in 2007, and began to put its own spin on things with original models. The quality of these early issue Peerless guitars is particularly noteworthy, as it successfully established itself as a maker of professional guitars to rival the Japanese factories.

NOTE: The closest USA guitar to this is probably the Gibson BB King, which is to be expected given Peerless produced the Epiphone version of the BB King before launching its own line of guitars. The twist of using using Filtertron pickups with Varitone is very clever, and frees the guitar of any muddiness.

CONDITION
All original. Limited play wear from studio use. Overall it is in particularly good condition for a 9 year old instrument, with original case and some case candy. I chose this in preference to the Firefox custom model as the nickel and strongly flamed light violin stain looked very complementary with a simple aged white binding added to the minimal vibe.  Photos don't do it justice.  Please get in touch for more details.
