Peerless Gigmaster SC (Peerless, Korea, 2007 first year issue)

The Gigmaster SC is a model from the Bigsby Artist Series in the original 2007 Peerless catalog. This is from the original 2007 release that launched Peerless guitars on the world, and is of superlative quality (Peerless having made the decision to scale back production numbers to produce high quality instruments under its own name after having made legendary models for Gretsch, Epiphone etc.).

The GIGMASTER SC is a 16-inch by 2 3/4 inch Arch Top Florentine Cutaway guitar with laminated arched maple top and back with Rosewood fingerboard, bridge base , tailpiece and pickguard and a (roller) tun-o-matic bridge and a mahogany neck and 2Dog ear p90s. Acrylic Mother of pearl fretboard inlays and bone nut.  Peerless used to make the sought after ES295 model for Epiphone, and that stylistic influence is very, very pronounced on this model (in fact it is virtually identical except, for me, the Peerless Gigmaster has a reshaped Gibson like head and a see through pickguard).  This is a first year model from 2007.
The quality of these early issue Peerless guitars is particularly noteworthy, as it successfully established itself as a maker of professional guitars to rival the Japanese factories after drastically reducing the factory's output to concentrate on building its reputation with own brand instruments (albeit often heavily influenced by those it had been making for Gretsch and Epiphone among others).

The dog ear pickup covers have been swapped to black, but the original cream covers are included.  Likewise a roller bridge has been fitted at some point to ensure tuning stability for those rockabilly shimmers.
