twangMART

ep-art-01
.... a small, specialist 'brokerage' in the less frequented back lanes of cyberspace specialising in those more 'unusual' guitars. In fact we are non profit collective, with all guitars listed sourced from the private collections of associates who have a deep love of non-mainstream electric and jazz guitars.

Each instrument is fully described, graded, and guaranteed to be as described on arrival. We will do our utmost to answer questions, take more detailed pics on request, and once the deal is struck to set the guitar up so it plays straight away and do out utmost to ensure the guitar arrives with you in the same condition it left us.

All guitars are checked over before listing and given a general set up, including electrics, intonation, fret check, neck check and new strings if needed so they ready to go. They are re-checked before dipatch.

All guitars will come in at least a gigbag (check listing), and if we find any issues with that gigbag (such as a torn zip) we will issue a brand new one with the guitar instead. We dispatch every guitar cocooned within courier-proof packaging, whether it's going to Cardiff or California.

Customers have a direct e-mail and telephone contact number. It's a personal service, and we would rather lose a sale than lose the goodwill of a valued customer (as we hope you will keep calling back and recommend our service).

The Ethic of Reciprocity is the golden rule in twangMART as in every section of twangCORP. In short, as SEXTUS THE PYTHAGOREAN among so many other, said in their different ways, 'IN ALL DEALINGS TREAT FOLKS AS YOU WISH TO BE TREATED'!!:

Q. "How do I go about buying a guitar from twangMART?”
envelope2
<<< A. Contact us here, let us know what you are interested in, and we will do our utmost to give you the answers and info you need.**

Q. Why no purchasing buttons?
A. For three main reasons:

1) We sell one off instruments and buying guitars is not a race. Questions need to be asked, finance sorted etc. Sometimes folks need a couple of weeks to pull funds together, or a couple of days to check out a spec, or a couple of hours to think it over armed with the answers to questions. This is fine with us. If you are seriously interested, let us know & we will put any guitar on hold for a sensible period to allow you to sort things out.

2) We ship worldwide andd always endeavor to find the BEST POSSIBLE SHIPPING/INSURANCE DEAL to allow us to calculate a final total price.

3) If purchasers wish to view the guitar and pay cash that is fine with us. We will not sell the instrument in the intervening period.

twangMART is strictly old-school-lo-tech until there is a compelling reason to change, and we can't see one at present. Let's slow everything down for a change, there's no need to rush into buying.

Q. Where are the guitars sourced from?
A. All guitars listed are privately owned guitars belonging to collective members & trusted associates. We are individual musicians & part time collectors, not a commercial music shop.

Q. Does dealing via email not slow things down?
A. Yes! But we have had no complaints from any of our valued customers to date who seem to prefer the slower, more deliberate 'no pressure' pace of purchase that is backed up by thorough item descriptions
(with a grading system), as well as safe, speedy shipping. Buying a guitar is not like (nor should be like) buying a tin of peas in the supermarket, or an itunes download online.

Q. Can I get directly in touch to discuss something, or view instruments?
A. Of course, you are also welcome to view any item by appointment with us here in North Somerset, UK. You will find that we are all too real, and we try to be civilized and helpful at all times. If we don't reply to your enquiry within 48 hours, we obviously haven't received it - so please try again**. Let us have a contact number and we will get back to have a chat or sort out a viewing to suit.

Q. Can twangMART be contacted directly by purchasers after the sale?
A. Yes!! Unlike many sites, all purchasers from twangMART get a direct number to contact us on just in case we need to sort something out that's best discussed over the phone. We want everything to run smoothly start to finish (...and that's when you smile contentedly after plugging it in following safe arrival), and above all we want you to be delighted with your purchase.

Meanwhile, please have a look around the site using the sidebar or the links below. We are currently implementing a few new ideas, which requires restructuring the site, so if you end up on a blank page please us know and we'll try to fix it.

- UK only payment can be by bank transfer, cheque, cash,
logo3 (or logo3 E-CHECK).

-
logo3 is absolutely recommended for international purchases as it gives additional buyer protection as well as being cheaper in most cases than bank transfer (which we also accept but buyer must cover all bank charges).

-
We do not charge for the use of PayPal for UK or international transactions.

- Contact us for an ALL INCLUSIVE quoted price on any item (we need to know where you live to find the best shipping deal available).

- We have no commercial tie-ins, no advertisers, no credit deals - just ordinary musicians selling unwanted gear to buy something else, or to avoid divorce proceedings. And we're always at the end the phone as well!

- We will give you a price inclusive of best value shipping (= safest and most reliable carrier) and full insurance (which is not always lowest price - but usually is) to your part of the world (IF we ship there). We’ll even arrange a meeting to pick up a guitar within a sensible radius of twangCORP HQ to save on the hassle of postage.

- Our aim is to keep costs down while providing a high quality, personal service.

-Sometimes we list on eBay as well, use the link below and also check out our feedback over 7 years of diligent trading...

twangMART sales pledge:
For guitars sold through the twangMART listings only we use a sensible grading system and have carefully maintained an excellent 100% record on eBay over several years. We have many glowing testimonies from direct buyers from the site as well as eBay. So far so good, no problems, but are not complacent. twangMART is first and foremost a musician's collective and operates on behalf of the members on a no to low budget basis. We do our utmost to give full descriptions and comprehensive photo documentation. Guitars are all ex-private ownership, and our profit margins as a brokerage generally vary from slight to minus. Nevertheless, we will do our utmost to provide a professional service at all times.

1) We guarantee all guitars to be as described, whether through eBay or direct, as it matters to us that you are delighted, and will do our utmost to ensure guitars reach you in the condition they leave us. We encourage buyers of special guitars to make the trip to North Somerset and try them out first.

2) Each guitar receives a full pre-dispatch inspection, if we find any issues over and beyond the listing we will contact you and/or cancel the sale and refund your money in full.

3) If in the unlikely case there are any issues on arrival (such as damage in transit) then contact us and we try and resolve them. If these issues cannot be resolved UK buyers only may arrange pre-agreed returns within 3 days of receipt. Return carriage is at buyer's cost and guitars must reach us in the condition they left. On safe receipt we will refund the initial price and initial postage postage, return postage and full insurance remains the buyer's responsibility. Sorry, we cannot refund international postage - and will do our best to resolve the situation from this end if carrier damage.

4) If damage has resulted from shipping we would ask that customers contact us immediately and also take full photographs of the damage to the instrument and packaging so we are able to lodge an insurance claim against the carrier immediately.

5) (UK & Europe only) If there is no problem with the guitar and the buyer changes their mind after receiving the guitar we will only consider a return
within 2 days of receipt if the buyer contacts us first. If we accept the return, the guitar must then reach us in the condition it left and the buyer must cover all postage and insurance charges (ie both ways) plus a nominal 5% handling and re-stocking charge to partly cover the time expended on the sale and updating our website accordingly (most dealers will charge a 15%-20% fee for this service).
NOTE: Rather than having to go down this route, we strongly encourage all interested customers to come and check an instrument first if unsure - or ask full questions before purchasing (we really don't mind).

Sales Terms:

1) No shipment can be made until funds clear into our bank account, no exceptions. Bank transfer is much quicker in the UK these days (cleared funds are available within 2 hours in most cases) and provides a similar level of buyer protection to PayPal.

2) PayPal transfers are NOT cleared funds and typically take 4-5 working days to clear, with PayPal e-check taking 5-7 working days. This does deprive the buyer or seller of PayPal protection but guards the seller against a few scammers who still use PayPal to make payments they are unable to fund, which the seller is not aware of until his PP account is directly debited of the fraudulent payment.

3) While we are waiting for clearance the guitar is marked as reserved while being packed ready to go and dispatched as soon as funds are marked clear.

Postage & Packing:

1) We always check for the best rates available for trackable services.

2) We typically use DHL, Fed Ex or DPD to deliver worldwide, and DHL for next day in the UK.

3) Our shipping quotes includes packing charges & FULL INSURANCE TO VALUE. So far, we have never had any problems with the carriers we use.

4) We do not cut corners so will not use cut price generic carriers in the UK (or ParcelFORCE, sorry). In most cases our quotes are still cheaper than or comparable to these budget carriers anyway!
