Cort TRG-2 + Tanglewood TRG-1 Jim Triggs
Rather wonderful Korean made guitars (in the same factory but the names on the headstocks are different) both designed by ex-Gibson master luthier Jim Triggs (who also makes his own highly sought after - and very, very expensive - hand made jazz guitars).
Dating from the early 2000s, this is the nearest we have to a genuine 'collection'! The quaility and thought put into these guitars is above and beyond. Certain reviewers on Harmony Central state that they prefer these to their USA made cousins, and bemoan why Gibson didn't adopt the design (given that Jim was one of its master luthiers).
TRG-2: Take a archetypal Gretsch G6120 twin pickup rockabilly guitar, cross it with a Gibson 135/137 to give upper fret access, Gibson scale length, fixed bridge and a Florentine cutaway but still keep it hollow. Add Gretsch style parallel tone bar bracing and a pronounced mid depth to make sure it has an acoustic presence and can get well into Gibson 175 territory. Finish it ff with a Bigsby!
TRG-1: Take the basic TRG-2 concept but only focus on those elements found on the best jazz guitars, single pickup, wooden floating bridge instead of the fixed bridge, tailpiece etc.
These are are serious instruments.
We can offer:
4 of the TRG-2 models: 2 x v1 and 2 x v2 in both black and organge finishes!!
2 of the TRG-1 model are available in either Teal/sea foam or Orange finishes.
