Skuffle & analogue preamps?

mo johnOn top of which we are ditching many (not all…) accumulated non-analogue tools that had become conveniences when interfacing with our Macs. Once one thing falls away the rest seem to follow as the work process changes. What we once regarded as primitive lo-fi mono recordings have become our main resource for this stage.
Even so, there are analogue pre-amps that work for us and those that don't. So many thanks for the excellent Orange Guitar Butler (made in UK) it had so much to commend it just not clean enough for our needs. It was a reluctant sale along with some very fine digital preamps. Nevertheless its two replacements (the 'SImplifier Classic' and the 'Quilter DirectAmp' ) have proven perfect. And at some point I'll find the time to rewire a fine ADD (non rack) analogue floor preamp that currently has a cap issue but sounds amazing when it does work…
